While poking around looking for the rockwell hardness of bone I ran accross a website with lecture notes for an introductory materials science class at Chico State. I liked the collection and the way that it was written. I thought that I would share. I started on chapter 6 which talks about things like hardness and tensile strength and how to measure them. Chapter 10 talks about heat treatment. Chapter 11 talks about metals. Chapter 9 gets into those pesky phase diagrams. Take a look. Each chapter has a link to an HTML version of the class slides or the Powerpoint version. The website belongs to Associate Professor Joseph Greene.
