Hi I am new to the forum so apologies if this is in the wrong place, I am sure admin will correct me if it is. I have a lovely old knife that I am trying to find out more information. I inherited it but I cant find much information on line. It is Bone Handled with the mark WEBSTER and WR as a royal warrant. The only Webster is I can find is William Webster Sheffield but there isnt much info. But I am trying to glean more information. Knife is not for sale (It was inherited from a dear friend and so has sentimental value)

If the WR is the indication of the royal warrant (they have been around since the late 1400's as best as I can tell with Charles II being the fist monarch to hand out a bunch of them) would that be William IV? Nobody named W since then. All V's, E's and G's.
