My best friend while growing up is getting married on saturday. As my gift to him and his bride I made them a wedding cake knife to cut their cake. The blade is made from W-2, 1/4 in thick stock. Blade is 9 in long and the knife is 13 3/8 in long. Fully fileworked all around. The handle is titanium that also has been fileworked and anodized blue. The overlay is nickel silver that has been fluted and mirror polished. I also made the velvet lined teak box that the knife is sitting in.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

Want to look, but picture isn't working... are you teasing me ;)

Well, that certainly does... "take the cake."

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

Seriously, that is the best wedding gift I think that I've ever seen. And that upsets me because I pride myself on superior wedding gifts. I don't know how I'm gonna top that.

I'll bet that this will be one of the gifts that your friends will cherrish the most from their wedding.

Bravo... Bravo!

Very beautiful!!!!!

Now, just in case I ever get the urge to remarry, can we collaborate on a "Divorce Knife." You know, for cutting the knot. Never mind, it would be a failure - you could never get anything as sharp as my ex's tongue!!!!!!!:D

Chuck = you've touched on my favorite part of knife-collecting and making - giving away a good piece of work.

Congratulations to the bride, the groom and to you.
