Do you think I was a little extravagant when I purchased a Randall Model 2-4 "boot" knife (letter-opener) as a wedding gift for my wife? Has African pink ivory handle and Rick Bowles scrimmed an ivory inlay with depiction of new wife's Westhighland Terrier.

Do you think a man should spend that kind of money on a woman?

It sounds like a beautiful gift. The dog scrimshaw is really a nice touch.

Tell you what, I've know my wife for 31 years. Toss a nice pair of earrings or a gold bracelet into the same box.

I bought my wife a Kershaw Boa because it can be converted to left-hand opening. She likes it. But she really LOVES the Black Hills gold bracelet I bought for her one Christmas. Go figure.

Yup...mine is never happier than when she's watching one of those jewelry presentations on TV...like QVC, et al...or in a jewelry store...precious stones and gold....makes my woman very, very happy.
