Whooooah! Pala! That is a great job and some beautiful wood. Look like some post oak but not sure? Great snag BB! Love them Sirus in that length.
 
Looks like maybe Maple to me, mighty purty whatever it is.

A first Siru for BB??? Who knew, thought you had most of the bases covered. You'll dig it. My first was a 25", still a favorite too.

I was thinking Maple as well. Yes, my first Siru. I have the Gelbu Specials and Kumar Kobras. I didn't feel a need until I saw Pala's craftsmanship.

Pala should offer a Khukri detailing business. He'd be a very rich man quickly. He can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and could likely find employment at Holland and Holland as a stock maker.
 
Well ok then! Maple it prolly is. All I know is its purdy as heck. Looks like the same wood that my little pala knife was made of which is really purdy as well. I just saw the Nabin Rai handle he made and man he is talented! Wonder if he can make a blade? Maybe he's sandbaggin some skills from us.;)
