Wednesday's hawk.....

Finished this one up Wednesday. This is by far the fearest tomahawk I've made to date. The beard got me at least 4 times when I was finishing it off and I haven't totally sharpened yet. The cutting edge is 3 1/2", overall the head is 10 1/2" and the haft is 19". The head was hand forged from 1" square 1084/95.

Damn!!! You have been a busy Little Hairy Sucker. Plan on doing anything with the damascus you started over here???? or just waiting to do it up on your new press???? Nice hawk.

IG, Little hairy sucker? Geez, why don't you call me fuzzy naval? I think I'll hold off on the damascus till I get my press plus I need to do some sheath making. Know I've got at least 20 to make up. Today's plan is for moving all the stuff where I'll be putting in the retaining wall for the shop. I may try doing the dirt work by hand but first I need to give it a try to see if its something I want to attempt. The fellow that does my hay has a backhoe and I may just go with him.
