I couldn't wait until Sunday to show this one off. It just came in the mail from Eric and I couldn't be happier with it. I've become really fascinated with wood burl of just about any kind and this one in Redwood burl is my first of that kind.

I love it, great job Eric!

Wow Dave that's fantastic! One day I hope to buy one done by Eric.I showed it to my wife and she was blown away because she's a big fan of Redwood. That burl is the best and that file work is top notch!:D:thumbup:

Just a side note on Redwood.Only 4% of old growth Redwood trees still stand today.

I'm having Eric do a couple more for me right now. One I think will be very unique, a large Vantage Pro with the same Redwood Burl handles. The second one is going to be a NS 110, mirror polished blade with filework and mammoth ivory handles. That one will be going to Leesa for some nice artwork.

I'm thinking a Wooly Mammoth scene with possibly a sabre toothed cat in the back ground or the mammoth on one side and cat on the other.

Thanks everyone. I actually should have lightened the pictures up some. They really don't show the true beauty of the wood.

My 2cents, there would be something wrong with you if you didn't like burl wood, its one of my favorites also.

That is sweet Dave, no surprise from Eric, a true craftsman:thumbup:-what was the donor knife?

Very nice. The wood looks incredible, and I do like liners. I think they really add a lot to the overall look of the knife.
I would have probably never thought about having blue liners, but it fits nicely.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments! That redwood burl came from Hawaii and the customer that sent it to me said it was over 80 years old. I have a little more left and I also sent more to K & G to be stabilized then it's all gone. The pieces I have left are even better than this one. I saved the best for last so Dave's Vantage will even have better wood on it. I have some real nice maple burl that I will be finishing today or tomorrow.:)

Eric
