I thought I would share a quick story. My neighbor cut down his tree branches, you know what's coming. His 17 yr old son was breaking large limbs into small limbs. I gave him my 18 inch machete to use [leading up to the best part]. He thanked me and was "hacking away". Then I handed him my 16.5 inch chiruwa. Both father and son backed away. I said this it's ok, just a better tool, try it. Well, one swing one branch. Quick, clean, but the kid made me nervous. Supervising, I explained not to use too much force. They were quite impressed. The job was over too quickly.
Second story, I was out in the national forest Friday, exploring. A dumb thing to do alone. I wanted to find some new fishing spots. Of course I went too far and got my four wheel drive p.u. quite buried in soft sand.
I used my 20 inch Angkhola to dig myself out. It worked as well as a "GI" shovel. I had to cut some wood for traction in the soft sand. The 8 inch limb was no match for my sweet tool. I think a 20 inch AK is the best survival knife/tool anyone can own. I don't wear it on my belt but I will not go into the wilderness without a canteen of water or my "big" AK.
