Good Morning Ethan,
I live in SE Virginia so I was in that neck of the woods (so to speak) at a State Park. I have a large multiday backcountry camping trip planned for two weeks out to the George Washington National Forest where I will be testing out a number of blades and putting them all to survival/camping use in shelter craft, firemaking, game cleaning, trap making, etc... can't wait for that. But in the meantime, when the weather permits (crazy weather in our parts the last three months), I have been loading up the pack and hiking around in the State Park to test out my system, the gear, the weight, etc.

So far, so good with the BK2 and I love the Dozier Folder.

I got the BK 2 and the new scales from Rocky National, http://www.rockynational.com

and the Dozier Folder was sent to me by Paul T. over at Ka-Bar when I sent back in the Ka-Bar Camp Knife for repair. Great guy Paul is, which I am sure you already know that!!

Love the Ka-Bar Fin Blades as well.

Ethan, you can see me putting them all to work on my YouTube page as well (as can others that want to see these knives being used), at http://www.youtube.com/user/FranchiseChronicles?feature=mhw4

Thanks for putting together quality gear and great prices backed by tremendous customer service!!

Looks good Franchise!

Hows the edge retention on that Dozier?

I just love this Dozier. I am not one for heavy duty EDC blades. My desk job certainly does not warrant one, but I also do not want something heavy duty and bulky in my pocket anyway. I am just finiky about stuff in my pockets. The Dozier is lightweight but strong and razor sharp. I love the hollow grind on my EDC blades because I want them to cut and slice mainly with other chores a distant 3rd and 4th. I have no doubt I could do some very light (very light!) baton work with it, but you and I both know folders are not made for that. My expectations of any folder do not extend to that capacity unless you have those much larger/bulkier offerings.

I keep it sharp using a Lansky diamond sharpener but during the week (on conference calls mostly!) I use the back of a legal pad. The cardboard part puts an amazing edge on it!!

love those dozier folders. Kabar's aus-8 holds up well and easy to touch up.\
they are probably some of the best deals out there.

nice pic's

nice pics! i know all about the crazy weather. at least you have leaves already. trees here are still in winter mode...sigh.
