I had a chance to hike up Deer Mt. (10,000+ feet) this weekend. There are some great views of Longs Peak (one of CO fourteeners) to the south and the Mummy Range to the North.

The mountain is aptly named as there are actually plenty of mule deer on it. They were kind enough to leave some trail snacks for weary hikers:D Someone was kind enough to mark the trail in an unique way.

And of course I did bring along a few knives:) An RC-4 on the pack with a SAK fieldmaster inside. (IMO the SAK fieldmaster is the handiest SAK, since it has both a saw and a scissors, which I find I use more than any of the other implements). And as a sheath knife a Bark River Canadian Special.

All in all a great day to get outdoors.

Beautiful pics...although you may want to consult a dietician before sampling any more "snacks." :barf:
