Granted, as to fire, that's my backup wtshtf eotwawki kit. Here's my primary

Really wanted to play with the 15. Did some light batoning. I wouldn't normally baton with this knife but I wanted to test it for use as a backpacking knife.

I really like the 15. It's light in hand. The choil is useful and extends handle length. And you get 5" of sharp edge.

I love spring!

Nice photos, thanks for sharing. Looks like a good time. That 15 sure is growing on me...

Thanks guys! I really wasn't happy with how the coating on the 15 was at the end of the weekend, and really didn't want to use it for food prep stuff like it was as the paint was literally flaking off. I went ahead and did a quick strip har har

and a quick warm white vinegar patina

Nothing fancy, not cliched or fisked. The etchings are barely visible now... I guess they weren't too deep on mine. Really nice knife... I'll get a 16 soon but it's not clear to me what this knife gives up to the 16...

Nice pics and looks like a fun weekend. That 15 is growing on me too, like it better stripped, nice job

thanks for the pics. looks like you were having some fun out there. nice patina. simple, but it still looks good. i like how you just did the sharp edge and not the choil

That's a nice looking combo you brought with you. :) The stripped and etched blade looks good!

good times :) nice plants. will have to lookup what a mayapple is...

Looks like a great weekend away! Your primary fire-starting kit looks a lot like mine, except there's a Ka-Bar Cutlass in the mix instead of the BK4.

Thanks for the kind comments guys... it was good time... I got so into the 15 I hardly played with anything else!
