I wouldn't mind seeing the liner lock done like the ones on the Military or Starmate, but I like the heaviness of it. I think the heft really adds to the great feel of the knife.

And VG-10 steel would be nice also

I am curious about that VG-10 rumour regarding the C48. I have one and I think that the knife is a perfect design, but an upgrade to VG-10 would give me a good reason to buy another one.

I'm with Shootist - I wouldn't appreciate slimming down the C48 at all. The heft is a big part of the charm. I find the Military and Starmate to be a bit on the light side.

Well, VG-10 sonds nice.

I like the thinner construction, lighter and allows me to carry more gear.

I owned a Wegner, but I found it to be just too heavy. I can see no point in a heavy knife just for the sake of heft.

Then again, I understand there are those who do, thus the Wegner....

When I first started carrying my Wegner, I found it heavy too- it replaced a Benchmade 830 as my daily carry about 2 years ago (Zytel handle). You just get used to it. But I'm already carrying over 225 lbs so I guess it's all just relative...
YMMV

I prefer the full liner on the Wenger over the inlayed ones on the other two knives. Shaving a couple of ounces off of my knife would just be throwing deckchairs off the Titanic.
