Wegner lightweight and other musings.

I was talking to my good friend Chris Christman, www.toptexknives.com , about the Wegner. We both really love this knife. No matter how many other knives I try, I keep coming back to the Wegner. I was telling Chris how much I would love to see the Wegner made with VG-10, an eccentric pivot, and a larger opening hole. Chris had an interesting suggestion. How about a Wegner lightweight? Kind of like an Endura trapped in a Wegner's body. That would really rock.

Would it be a liner lock or a lockback? A small lightweight Wegner would look just like a Pro-grip.

Hi Dennis,

Considering the present demise of the Goddard Lightweight, I wonder whether a lightweight version of the C48 would meet the same fate -- particularly considering that part of its charm is that it is one of the few Spyderco heavyweights in its current form.

What we do need of course, is a few limited edition sprint runs to round out our Wegner collections: A carbon fiber Wegner, a Wegner with G10-Shell inlay, a blue Almite Wegner, an ivory micarta Wegner. You get the idea.

Of course I would look kindly upon a few upgrades to our beloved G10 Wegner -- things like VG-10, an eccentric pivot pin, and a larger opening Hole.
