Howdy Gentelmen,
I'm pretty new here so I don't really know how to respond to the threads already in place yet,( any compu-tips would be appreciated) but I have a question about the lock on my full size wegner. This is a great knife but the lock seems to end up almost against the scale when I open it hard with my thumb. After reading the posts about lock testing and wear, it has me kind of worried. If I snap it with my wrist, it only goes across half way. There also is a very little amount of blade play in all directions. This was a Christmas present from my wife and has only been used for light work( opening boxes,etc.). I don't think this can be remedied by adjusting the pivot. I want this knife to last me a long time as it's so comfortable and any info or advice would be much appreciated. Thanx- Joe

Sorry everyone! I must be blind. I just saw that HUGE post reply icon so I used it to show everyone how smart and aware of my surroundings I am. Be glad I did'nt use one of those embarassed smiley faces. Just remember that even someone with a hightened sense of awareness(RE: Paranoia) can make a mistake. Your Friend at the Lewinski's, Joe

Welcome to the forums Joe. The Wegner was an excellent choice for a gift. It remains as my favorite all around carry folder. Yes, the blade pivot pin offers no user adjustment. It needs the warrantees dept.s attention. Similarly, the high lockup position of the tang should be corrected IMO, the knife being relatively new as you' ve mentioned. However, there is no great concern that the liner lock will be wedged between blade tang and scale since there is no liner on the "right" side scale. Your Wegner is still safe to use but do send it back for warrantee purposes. I might add that Spyderco' s warantee dept. is top notch. Hope this helps a bit.

I recently purchased 2 Wegner JR's and both had to be sent back because of the liner lock problem you speak of . Spyderco sent me 2 new knifes within 1 week , and the locks were perfect . The best customer service department I have dealt with . Good Luck , Mike...
