Wegner Question

My new full size Wegner has the number 770 engraved on the blade. What is the significance of this? I have seen other similar knives w/o engraved numbers.

the first batch of the first 1000 knives of each model are numberd.
they are considerd more disirble by some collectors even when new.
i guess in time the older the knife gets they will increase in value.keep it.

True, the first 1000 are numbered, also if a knife has a value (MSRP) of $350 or more, they are all numbered.
