Wegner vs. marble floor

Interesting thing happened the other day. I got a care package from my wife. The one who's been using my Military in the kitchen. I got so excited tearing into the box, thinking my Military was inside, that I launched my Wegner straight to the marble floor. $#@%!! And then, on top of all that, guess what wasn't in the box?? MY MILITARY!! So now, I have to send my Wegner back to Colorado, my Military has become my wife's kitchen knife, and my Dragonfly looks depressed. WAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Tobii,
Why can't she send you the Military? Doesn't she realize that our warriors need to be flicking a knife when they're overseas? Can't you tell her that the knife might come in handy in an emergency? Tell her the Military is for use in the military--not the kitchen. Did you ask her to send it?

IS it the CF Dragonfly that's lonely? Do you have any other blades with ya?

Hmmmm... I think the required prescription is:

1) New Military for you, so wifey can keep "hers."

2) Wegner Junior to care for wounded Wegner when it returns from surgery.

3) Steel and Zytel Dragonflies to cheer up CF Dragonfly.

Sounds expensive, you say? Possibly there's some way to get your HMO to cover it...

Lucy you got some splannen to do! Zactly what happened to your C48 when it hit the marble floor?

Lucky Dog!!! Like, yes DUDE!!! I do!!!

Seriously Tobii. I hope you have your blade soon and are back stateside soon. I remember how frustrated you were when they sent that knife to your home address. I was just kidding. No offense meant--I know you're happy that your wife has a good kitchen knife and doesn't have to use the Ginsus.

Kodiak...
whoa dude, slow down! The wife won't send it because she thinks Customs will take it (conspiracy of hers I think). My CF Dragonfly looks SOOO lonely with his big brother missing! Yes, I have other knives, but nothing that compares to my Wegner. sniff sniff

Corduroy...
Two Military's? I'm still catching %$#@ from trying to "sneak" the last one!! My buddy's Zytel Dragonfly is what made me buy the CF Dragonfly.

Tim Wegner & Cutter Dog...
oops. Oh, uh, um, heh-heh, great knife design! I, uh, well, uh, um, it was an accident, honest!!! Look at it this way, it took a chunk out of the marble floor!

I'm going to try to see if I can scan an image of the chunk, er, chip, uh, ding in the blade. Then you guys will say what I did when I did it.

Tobii, Dude! Get your wife a Santoku, she will be so grateful that she might get you a Starmate! Mine did! Thanks to Charlie @ Ironstone! By the way guys, Ironstone had some neat Titanium kitchen knives at a blowout $20 each! Great wife offering! www.fe3stone.com

Kodiak, no offence meant here either I just thought your post was funny.

Tim, your offer shows a lot of class. But that seems to be 'norm' for the manufacturers and makers in this forum. The dedication and customer service I see you all offer to consumers is nothing short of amazing and almost unheard of in this day and age.

Bravo!

"Walk softly and carry a big folder... and a small folder... and a SAK... and a multi-tool..."

In my previos post I forgot to mention another great way to make use of a damaged folder is to have it modified into a trainer. All that needs to be done is to have it re-contoured and deburred.
This GEM of an idea comes from the renowned "JEDI" Michael Janich
I recently did one for Kelly Worden and we have been offering that service option in a limited capacity here at Blade-tech , mainly for customers who have had thier favorite blade damaged to the point of being generally unservicable, such as a broken tip or a chunk of the blade edge being chipped out etc.....
( I recently did this for a guy who had to use the blade of his C48 to jump start a stranded vehicle in the field . Don't ask where the toolbox was, as it was'nt his vehicle. This little trick proceded to melt a dime size half moon in the blades tip. I made a trainer out of it for him and he also purchased a new C48GPS clipit . The cost of trainer mods is $15.00 plus S&H aprox. $10.00 We assume no liability for the knife or its use after mods are complete. Check our website for Knife pricing:

Thanks again!

Tim, thanks for your efforts on the Forums! I have a Blade-Tech holster for my Glock, great design and workmanship! I would not hesitate to buy another Blade-Tech. Fish

Err... this might be an embarrassing moment for me, but ever since I read about the Spyderco Wegner about a week ago, I couldn't stop thinking about it, and heck, even dreamt of owning one!

Now a week has passed, and I could no longer contain my desire to own one. The more I read, the more I fell in love with this knife.

It'll take an arm and a leg for me to get one, as I have a Sebenza on order, but I believe if there's a will, there's a way.. hehehe..

I like this model, and I don't know what it is, but since I found out about it, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Going crazy? you bet!

I didn't even have the same "problem" with other knives, just this one, and I honestly HONESTLY don't know why.

I can't wait until my order for the C48 arrives.

Plain-edge, of course.

I had to bring this back.....

Danelle fixed my Wegner AND my Endura!!!

She e-mailed back and said they left on the 27th headed back to me out here in the desert!!

Of course, to add to the story, my wife still has my Military in the kitchen. I tried to bribe her with the CF Dragonfly. She has both of 'em now........

GREAT JOB!!! DANELLE
tobii3 I was glad to see you got this squared
away, I was getting a little worried as I had never recieved a reply after posting.
Thanks for catching us up!
Tim

I wish I could take all the credit...but alas, cannot. I check in the repairs, and keep the folks on the net and on the phone happy, but we owe the repair work kudos to Keith Monge. He is the best, believe me!
Danelle
