Since the Wegner models have been coming in for some praise around here lately, and I had a few in the drawer here, I decided they could use a fresh image. Click on the picture for a 1024-size "wallpaper".

Spyderco's lockback "skinner" design is the Pro-Grip or Pro Venator, and the one at the top has special silver and bronze treatment by Gary Blanchard.

The C49 Wegner Jr. is no longer in the Spyderco catalog, but some combo-edge specimens, at least, remain in the pipeline.

Thanks James,

All of the local Spyderco dealers were sold out of the Wenger so I had to order it from the nearest internet dealer. The brown truck should be pulling up today or tomorrow. :-)

Your great scan just whets the edge of the anticipation!

James,

Thanks for the scan. I just stole it and added it to my screen saver.

Nice pic James. How do you get such crystal clear quality? What kind of digital camera or scanner are you using?

Flat-bed scanner (Microtek legal-size), blue construction paper background, 300 d.p.i. scan reduced to a reasonable screen size in my image editor (Corel Photo Shop 3), where I cranked up brightness and color intensity and sharpness, left contrast low. Still experimenting.

There's a short article on the Spyderco Toad and Wegner Mouse in the latest Guns&Ammo. The writer said they had used the moust to skin a wild hog. THAT was pretty interesting, I thought.
