weight of k5

Just under 2 lbs. for the full size spike(about 30 oz.) They can vary due to steel and thicness of powdercoat, so I cannot say specifically.

The shorty's are MUCH less. But I have not gotten the handles completed yet to weigh one.

My Tactical Spike was 2 lbs 9.8 oz. without the sheath, 2lbs 15.1 oz. with the sheath, on a postal scale correct to 1/10 of an ounce.

I'm really looking forward to the new line which is supposed to be a bit lighter.

Once you get used to the weight, you can really make it work for you, at least when it comes to breaching/demolition. I train with a CS Rifleman's Hawk, which comes in at about the same weight, so when I put the K5 through it's paces, the weight was more natural. If you're working on hard targets, you immediately see that the weight + leverage = great penetration  I've found that I did more work, with a lighter hawk, to hack through heavy material. For fighting, that's another matter entirely.
