Weird Question about turning an old hammer into a hawk

So I recently got an old Vaughn hammer from an old tool collection of my fathers. While I have zero need for another hammer I do find myself looking at poled hawks often. So my question is, is it possible to have this reforged into a hawk? If so do you guys know any smiths who would undertake such a task?

Nice, check with the local blacksmithing group and see if they can help you out. I've made some and actually did one for a young man made from a hammer that belonged to his great grandfather. You might be able to do some of the forging for an added heirloom value. It doesn't have to be done in one setting so you could retain the head in your possession.
I think there is data out there that claims the Vaughan hammers were 1080 steel or there about.
Good luck

Thanks for the tips guys. I am lucky enough to live about 25 minutes from Beaver Bill I may reach out to him to see if he can help me with this project.
