Weird rivet on a new Ka-Bar leather sheath

I was just wondering what the rivet if for that is in the middle near the top of the back side of a new black Ka-Bar sheath. It does not seem to attach anything it just has a flat metal head on it on the inside where the knife goes.

I actually figured it out, secures the belt, it was just really hard to see
