Weird thing happened to my G-10

I have a Spyderco Wegner (full size model) with the black textured G-10. I throw my clothes on the floor and after she kicks my butt my wife throws them into the wash, regardless of what's in them. The Wegner went through the wash AND dryer (and it is smooth as silk still) and the only weirdness was with the G-10. On the polished edge of the knife, there is sort of a "feathering" effect where there is light and dark coloration together (I can take a pic if I'm not making any sense). I figured a little oil would remedy this, but applying oil to the edge of the handles doesn't darken the lightened bits at all. Did the heat somehow leech the coloring out of the glass fibers? I thought G-10 is supposed to be tough! Any idea on what happened and, more importantly, how to make them all black again?

If I've understood correctly, I think I've seen the same thing working with Kydex on G10. A little acetone cleaned the white off.

No idea what it is.

Peter, you're a genius! I never would've thought to use acetone. It worked great! Took a bit of vigorous rubbing, but in 30 seconds the white junk was all gone. Must be some sort of precipitate/salt/something that is soluble in acetone. Just takes the right thing to dissolve it. Maybe it's some sort of residue from the laundry detergent, but I reckon that the rinse and dryer would eliminate that, so it must involve the G-10 directly somehow. Anyway, my Wegner is back to good as new, thanks!
