Welcome after my summer holidays! Well, this year it was a bit different than usual. No survival, no wildlife, no ultra-knife-adventure. This year was my first summer with my little Mary! Of course I've had some knives with me (CRK as well, of course) and you'll see which one was #1. But instead of going to the forest and swamp exploring I'd like to invite you for a small course of... traditional pottery! After all that was a skill that changed the history of human being, right? OK, so since my Mary is reslly busy with her mower (as you can see below) WE CAN START THE FUN! And don't worry, you'll see also a bit of knife action!
We've spent the holiday in the low mountains South of Poland, Bieszczady Mountains. We've found local pottery master and asked him for small pottery workshop. So we started... and the first dissapointment came really fast...
Initially that was supposed to be a cup, but ended as a... toothpick holder?
My wife kate was much better than me...
And than after some training even I managed to do something bigger
Than I made some kind of small vase, and the last project was... "survival whisky pot"
And here all together...
The pottery-guy told us exactly what to do next to harden them in fire in an old fashion style. First of all we had to wait 3 days for the pots to dry really good. Otherwise the remaining water would boil inside the walls of the pot and the pot would explode! So we used these days for some trekking. Now take a good look what she tries to reach! She knows what's a good stuff!
