I was finally able to score a pair of XM-18s. One is for me and it's already in the mail, the other is a gift for my father in law (a Vietnam vet) and should be here in about two weeks. I'm so happy and I had to post this.

Please welcome us to the select group of XM-18 owners! Now, I guess it will be a looooong wait until both knives are here...:(

Welcome..

I am fairly new also to the XM-18 world..

I have acquired a few and have decided, that I only really need one.. with so many guys wanting them I few guilty owning more than one..

It is one heck of a folder and you will be pleased..

I just got my first XM-18 ( a non flipper with a yellow scale ) and absolutely love it. It is just simply amazing. Congrats on getting one. The wait is the worst part, it was for me and it was only 3 days.......lol.

Our knives are non-flippers as well. Bright blue for me and orange for my father in law. I'm getting some extra scales just in case we don't like the looks.

I'm looking forward to taking the old man on a fishing trip so we can put those babies to use.

Congrats, you now own the best heavy duty folder/flipper made.

It had a blue scale originally, but I was offered a choice of scale colors, so I opted for the yellow which I think fits the knife perfectly. I also have a blue and black scales on the way and a clip insert as well. I do wanna get an orange scale for hunting so if I lay it down, it will be easily found. I would like to go the flipper route on the next one. I am in the process of selling some other knives to fund another xm-18. Just deciding on if I want to try a 3" or a 3 1/2". I doubt I would be able to score an XM-24 which I think is 4", the prices are going to go through the roof when they come out. I have already heard what some of the prices are for the few out there and its unreal.

Let us know what you think of them ???

Congrats! I'm loving mine and has been in my pocket every day since it arrived last week.

congrats on a great score.
XM's are very comfortable to hold, and that alone makes it so appealing than other knives out there. Not to mention its such a Beast Of A Knife!!!
I am waiting for my XM 3.5" flipper also.. the wait is the worst!!!

What I have coming right now (2 or 3 days) is a bright blue non flipper with an extra yellow scale. For my father in law, it should be coming in the next 2~3 weeks and it's an orange non flipper with an extra black scale.

Looking at your pictures made my wait even worse. It looks pretty good in yellow!

I will post pictures for sure when I have both in my hands.

I'm sorry for the poor Blackberry pictures. I can't find my camera this morning and I have to take the shots before the orange one is gone. The blue XM-18 is mine and the orange one is a gift for my father in law.

You will notice that even being both production gen 3 knives, there are subtle differences between them. Note the grind of the blade and the screws (flat on the orange one and a little bit dome shaped on the blue).
