Hi and Welcome to the Buck Knives Forum.

We here at Buck are always interested to hear from our customers.

1st - I'm Jeff Hubbard, Buck Knives Quality Supervisor and SR Quality Engineer. I've been with Buck going on 13 years and I started as a Recieving Inspector. Since then I worked my way up to Quality Engineer and now I report to the Buck Family as Quality Supervisor. I am an active member in the American Society for Quality and former ASQ Inspector of the year. I love knives and will probably learn more here than I contribute.

Since I report directly to the family - Chuck Buck Sr, CJ Buck and Joe Houser (Director of Quality), rest assured any concerns or comments you have will be shared.

Our main goal is to make our customers happy. We can't do that unless we know what is bothering you. Please feel free to voice any concerns or comments. Of course we would like to hear the good stuff too!!!

I can see by the posts that happened before I even was able to post this, I will probably be busy. I will respond to any item that I can. Some stuff may fall under a propritary realm, and I 'll let you know if it does

I will be arranging for a co-moderator to ensure all corcerns are addressed. I will let you know when I arrange it.

Ok, I think that about covers it.

Welcome Jeff,

I am starting to collect older Buck hunting knives, so I am very happy to see Buck have a presence here on BladeForums. I'm not adverse to buying a new knife every once in a while either.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about Buck and it's knives.

Jeff,

WELCOME! It is great to see you here! Buck knives are almost a mandatory part of growing up where I come from. Why? Great knife at a price a kid can afford! On a farm you really do need a good knife, just like a carpenter needs a hammer and saw.

I'm glad to see the Master Series has come along. I must say that I have been swayed by the liner locks but, I've got my eye on a 110MS. A knife even an adult is proud to own!

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the forum as a moderator! I was really glad to see this happen. It's great to see Buck knives here, well represented. This presence will really add to the site! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you!

Sid-I have one of those 110 master series knives. It's an incredible piece. Well made and very affordable. I did a review of this knife & it's in the search engine under Buck 110 Master Series

Oh...here's the url for the review:

Hi Jeff,I bought a folding hunter in `64It was stolen by a no name airline in `79.I had a blank check to replace it but, couldn`t find any thing other than the clunky version.I wound up buying a Gerber.I needed a knife now and I was traveling.Would Buck make the old.slim version again?

Welcome Jeff. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Buck knives forum here today (was it here before and I was just blind

). Anyway, in spite of all these new folders and customs, Buck remains one of, if not my favorite, knife. I have had many while growing up, and continue to buy them. I have a Buck Colt (705?) that I have nearly shapened the big blade away, and it still just keeps working.

I'm VERY glad to see Buck starting to expand into more one-handed openers, and using some new steels. I'm dying to pick up one of the Masters Series, especially the Vanguard Master.

Well, I've run off at the mouth long enough.

Again, welcome.

Hi everyone and Thanks for the Welcome...
Glad to see such nostalgia about Buck.

We are also glad you like the master series... Unfortunatly it has been discontinued for '99. WE do have a BG-42 offering in the form of a Chuck Buck Signiture Model, a fixed blade with Stag and a unique look. Some of us are lobbying for the BG-42 to come back, so start writing those letters... You will see more of the high end steels out of us.
Ghostsix, i feel your loss, slim 110's are hard to come by. You might try e-bay, but be careful.
Also contact our Collectors Club through Joe Houser Jhouser@buckknives.com. A member may have what you want...

Dear Jeff,
Welcome to the BladeForums.
I had a thread about 2 months ago called "Your first good knife".
It seems at least half of us started out with a Buck 110.
I know your input will be much appreciated.
Enjoy yourself
Doc

Jeff,
Could you please comment on why the Master Series has been discontinued for '99? I was disappointed to read that. I would have imagine that this would have been a very successful venture.

Was it too costly to continue producing the knives or are series just made for a limited run?

Anyway, the master series was a great idea. I hope Buck brings it back soon.

Welcome Jeff; glad to have you here. Feels like an old friend has joined the forums.

Indeed and welcome to Bladeforums. I'm personally pleased to see a forum dedicated specifically to Buck. I went to a knife club meeting last Wednesday and I usually bring some new model of knife to show the members since they enjoy seeing what's new. Last Wednesday I brought a Benchmade Vortex with the Axis lock so they could play with it. Their comment? Didn't you bring a Buck Lightning? Naturally I'll bring one to the next meeting. Take care.

Thanks for such a warm welcome. We at Buck are excited to be here.
Ive been follwing rec.knives and these forums for a long time, so I am familiar with alot of you posts. I am looking foward to getting to know each of you better.

Collectors Club:
It is nice to see collector club members here. We will put a blurb in the Collectors Club Newsletter soon. I've learned more in the past couple of years about Buck history from collectors club members, than I've soaked up around here. Even us that work at Buck sometimes forget the rich heritage we have. Please have discussions so I can learn!!!

No need to reply, Jeff. Your comment about this site keeping you busy is an accurate one, no doubt. I've read some of the posts and there are some knowledgable people here. Thanks for letting me know about it. Mac
