Welding broken hidden tang knives

Gentlemen,
This is about as frustrating as it gets. I was 99% done grinding this blade when the belt caught it and flung it to the ground.
It's S35VN stainless steel.
I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has tried welding a broken tang back on?
Thanks!

I wonder if it would help to extend the weld area further along the spine, a bit like the pattern of the composite blades Kershaw uses?

Good question, I'm not sure.

I've got someone to weld it for me thanks. It either works or it becomes an Ulu.
