That's pretty much the story.

Yangdu and I are heading for San Francisco Monday night. We'll return Thursday Night. I'm going to California Pacific Medical Center to get a couple of stents installed -- stopgap procedure to buy me a little time. Will also discuss treatment options. Surgery is so nasty I'm going to try to avoid it if at all possible. I'll investigate the possibility of tomotherapy, gamma knife and any other treatment that might be available to me. Upside, Docs at CPMC are very, very good and equipment is latest and greatest.

I'm on 19 different medications now, some 1/2 tab, some 2x per day, some 3x -- I had to develop a meds schedule. Also getting to be a regular druggie -- morphine and dilaudid in my pharmacy.

As Great Uncle Frank used to say, "it's hell to get old and sick."

But, no weeping and gnashing of teeth, please! It's all karma which I believe to be absolutely fair and just so I have no complaints. However, prayers and well wishes gladly accepted.

Hang in!

Bill, if that's a recent picture, you're looking pretty dammed good.

Best of luck to you.

Last summer pix taken on Brother Fred's deck in Girard, KS. I'm about 15 - 20 pounds lighter today and look considerably more haggard.

Smoke will go up this evening Bill...as it does almost every night. Stay out of the leather bars in Frisco.

Best wishes and good thoughts to you both, Uncle. :)

Thoughts and prayers indeed from here to you.

I'd watch myself if I were you- you get any sicker and they'll think you're a lawn ornament.

Seriously- that pict looks good. I hope you don't look as bad as you think today.

May you have a successful and trouble-free installation.

And be able to replace some of those meds with the Dutch prescription that comes in green bottles.
