All just for posterity, next time you see this one it'll be all shiny and sparkly and stuff ;)

Nice shots Yoda.

Interesting vegetation too... are those palm trunks?

And what's in those yellow boxes? :D

NIce pics... always great to see a mistress in use!

I'm also curious about the lil' hairy alien pods you cleaved your FBM into in the second pic. :D :D

Thanks for sharing.

I'm not really sure, I think it was the box for a ruger blackhawk but I can't be certain.

The trees you see are bananna trees, they need constant attention due to their being right next to the water, if you let em go for a while they get around 1 foot in diameter and are almost all water, while lots of fun to cut they're not fun to move to a suitable compost heap.

The "alien pods" are actually the base of some old bamboo growth, you can see some bamboo that was cut (smashed through) by a really dull machete in the back of the picture, once it gets dry for a week or so here I'll bust out the sawzall to make them look like the one the mistress is buried into. Those don't grow as fast as the bananna trees but when they get old enough they get really hard and almost 4 inches in diameter, if you don't angle the cut even a sharp blade will sort of just bounce off of it.

Thanks for the explanation.

Mistress versus bamboo?

The mistress is my go-to blade for bamboo, the only thing comperable is my 18 inch tram, it can go through up to 3 inch in one swing. The trick is if you don't go through in one swing it just sorta gets wedged in really tight cuz there's about 20-30 feet of bamboo putting pressure on the blade, the mistress does not bind in bamboo :)

Thanks as well  They are cool looking. :D

I like the last shot too... cool shot in a reflection pool.

Good stuff!

I don't see much bamboo in Scotland (nor banana trees)... but... I'm lookin forward to testing out my FFBM in the Highlands in early Spring.

One of the best features of the Busse section is the quantity of photographs of knives in use..... you can never have too many.

I used my FFBM to cut banana trees New Years Day. It was awesome. they were half frozen and I could get about halfway through the big one with one swing.

Good times!
