The wife finally found a (one year) job, but it's 112 miles away..so it looks like we'll be renting and I'll have to run back and forth when I need to, depending on the rent we get,(4 hours traveling both ways) hoping for a place with a work shop.. we'll see.. we only have a week to get shEEt straightened out ..
she can't pass the job up..and I can make knives most anywhere ( keep telling her that :o )..so it's up and gone for a while..I'll keep watch here, though time will be limited for the hob-knobbing:( .. I'm not looking forward to this..30 years here make for an old dog not liking new tricks.. but it's on the coast

I'll be taking care of the Necka business just the same..it's just my nose will be to the grind stone all the chances I get..if any of the buds need me use email....to make sure I see it..

Well Dan. wish you and the Mrs best of luck. gonna be a tough change, but like you said you got the coast. Any luck you're moving a little more south?
let us know how its goes. we'll keep you updated on the Forum Yakking

Dan, all the best to you and your wife. I hope you find a place with a shop area, and you can continue making knives.

Good Luck Dan,Things will all settle down in about a year:D :D or sooner.Stay in contact after you get settled in.
Bruce

thanks Guys
I'll be here the weekends and maybe two days a week I hope..
grinding my fingers off. I can't buy there and can't sell here where it's a 1 year gig for her, it's going to be between rock and a hard spot for a while for me....heating the shop, the house and the rent.. I have way to many things
that will freeze in the shop, it's been heated every winter since I biuld it
well over 20 years ago. too much junk since then to move else where....

we'll get though it, I just hate changes like this.....thansk again guys...

Mike, nope
it's an hour 15 farther from the 95er ( the other side) than I am now and still within 8 miles of where I'd have to come back to catch it again to go south..
where we're going, it's all most as far east as you can get in the States..
1 hour from the most eastern town.. Eastport hence the name :)

Good Luck Dan , although I don't think luck will have anything to do with it.You'll be sucessful no matter where you live. And think about it...New customers . They will be the lucky ones to have such a skilled Knifemaker in their midst :) . Talk to you soon ! You aint goin anywhere with this internet thingy (thanks so much algore :o :D )

Dan, I'm glad to hear that she finally found a job! Sorry it's such a painful location though.
Any chance that it'll be more than a year?

Dave the net does make for a smaller world for sure..:) I get most my work from the net and I can access that most anywhere..it's just that the fun and games will have to cut down..:grumpy: :)

Dan not sure right now. there is a possibility that the teacher she's replacing for the year will keep doing the pier coaching she's doing this year but that is through a grant , so, as we know right now,, not to plan on it..

thanks Guys..:)

Hang in there, my friend! Dan, you are a good man and I wish you and your lady the very best---from a former maniac, Sandy
