After not getting any knives for a couple of years and the suddenly getting 4 khukris, getting exactly what I wanted and now I can't seem to get enough. Its nice getting a knife that does exactly what you want, solid, simple and pretty. Now I've been thinking how I need the 16inch WWII model...for..stuff..

Already read a few reviews and now it seems another must have. Come on tax rebate!

Habit forming, ain't they?;)

I think you'll really like the 16.5" WWII. I have an 18" model that has been a pretty constant camping companion for over 5 years. I have handled a 16.5" villager, and I really liked it:) Rusty, our late moderator and all around fantastic human being, used to go on and on about how the 16.5" WWII was just magic. Oh, the 18" version was a very good khuk, but the smaller version was just the be-all-end-all of what a WWII variation could aspire to be:D

I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for a 16.5" WWII villager to come down the pipes;)

Of the various HI products knocking around our house, the one getting the most use has always been my first khuk - a 16 1/2" WWII. Light enough ... yet heavy enough. Long enough ... yet short enough.

I find it doesn't excel at any one specific task, but overcompensates by being bloody good at most of them. So while it doesn't simply destroy a branch like my larger AK, being lighter and faster (while still hitting respectably hard) means I can use it much longer without tiring.

That snub nose makes it less pretty than its cousins, nor would it be as good as a thrusting weapon. But dumping that higher proportion of weight forward means that as an all-round tool, it's magic.
