I couldn't help it this time, I really tried to resist. It's like I had an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. The angel said I should slow down with the Becker collection, that I had plenty of time to get another knife. He made a valid, reasonable point. The devil pulled out a BK9, and that was enough to shut the angel up.

So I have the 14 on the way. Looks like a great knife, may even become my EDC or hiking knife. Pics inbound when it arrives!

Haha. Nice. I just picked up another 14 today as well. Also, the wife ordered me a 24 and some BK11 micarta from tomars on Friday. I'll post again when I get the 24 and scales.

Very Cool, your wife is on board!! Mine is too..sort of..Watchdog mode...She's a big FAN of Moderation.

You'll love it. If you can keep the angel quiet long enough I recommend you get a set of the factory scales. They make a huge difference in how it feels in your hand and won't break the bank. Two sets of handles come in the pack plus hardware, you can find them quite a few place online....average price around $15 or so.

LOL. Sort of. Actually, my recent BKs were the result of a bribe. Wife wants a new camper trailer....and knew what it would take to get a "Yes" out of me. I might try to milk this a bit over the next few weeks and try to pick up a 10.

(In the voice of Bill Lumberg) Um....yeah....so, I'm going to need you to just go ahead and pick me up a 10 as well.....M'kay? That'd be great.

And a 9!!!!!! Tdhurl, you need a 9.

Havin' a good laugh here :) Magus, thanks for the advice about the factory scales, I'll look into it for sure.

Hey the Zytel is great. I love them on my 14. Not too fat, not too slender. They give you enough handle width for good purchase, aren't hard to clean, and they aren't as slick as some might have you believe. I mean, look, if you are really worried about using a knife with a damp or wet handle or worried that hand sweat and slippage will cause an accident...that much...then wear gloves my friend. I wear gloves alot with all my knives.....no shame in it.

For the 14...micarta...IMO is a waste of money and paracord while cool gets nasty after a while. Just sayin'
