I have been putting it off for about 2 months... I was going to get a Tachyon insted... but I finally realized that even after I get a Tachyon, I will still want the BM 47, so I went to my local knife store, and got one!
I checked out the first 47... no good, the blade was nicking the handle when closing, so I bought that last one in the desplay case, it was perfect! No nicking, and the handles don't have ugly grinds on the inside blade channel!
It is nice to be able to check out knives before you buy, can't do that with mail order... but of course, you will pay more at your local shop... tipicly.
Well, I have to go 'flip' :)
All in all, I am very very satisfied with my new beauty!

Congrats Man!!! It's a great feeling isn't it...Actually what that feeling is is the preliminary signs of a dangerous addiction...but we won't go in to that now;) Have fun flippin, and dont hurt yourself...too badly:D

As far as my note worthy bali's go, I have a 42 plain and a 47 plain.
The finish quality is much better on my 47 :) I mail ordered my 42, and didn't want to hassle returning it because of the minor complaints I had, so for now on, I think I will be buying knives from the shop here so I can make sure I get quality :)

Next stop, a MicroTech! Either a Tachyon, Nemisis, or the tanto (if and when it comes out! Soon I hope!)

I still haven't gotten one of those yet. I'll probably break down and get one after I get a 31.

Tachyon is worth every penny in my opinion, you'll love it! Let us know what you decide on. I can't wait for the nemi-bladed version to match my other nemi:D

Yeah, some of the "big names" on the net just sell the product without inspecting them. Some of the "small operators" take the time to look over the knives as they receive them and return them if they're defective. Support your "small operator" !!!!

That's a good point Pete.., I've had to send a few back right out of the box in the last year.., and actually thought I was just unlucky.

I've been pleased with Benchmades QC to a large extent.., but I think it is a good idea to support the "local guys" with purchases also.

One "net-guy" who checks the product as he receives it is "Heritage" - wouldn't be the first time he's sent an entire order back to the maker because of quality issues, big or small !!
