I've been looking around in the forums for months to find information on a great knives to get. Apparently I kept wandering into Himalayan Imports and finally ordered a 15 inch 26 ounce Tin chirra by Vim Bhadur Kami today. I was close to getting the Vim Boomerang also, but I abstained. Well I guess this is the end for me. Once I get the khukuri in the mail...it will be over ^_^
*Suggestions on what khukuri to get next?

more cowbell? :D

seriously though. If I could only have one khukri, it would be the 16.5" WW2. I'm also a big fan of the M43.

15x26 is a fairly hefty knife. Maybe something light and fast would balance it out like a Kobra or Siruapati.

I personally like BASes as an all-arounder.

Ha. Over? Nope. It's just started, friend. It ain't the end until you have one of everything.

Then it starts all over again.

You know you got the fever really bad when you get up at 2am to visit the loo, then, before you crawl back in bed, you pull the HI kuk (that you keep by the bed) out of it's sheath and look at it for a minute or two.

Yup. That's when you know you've got it real bad.

I do. And I love every minute of it. :D

thx - cpr

No matter which kukri you choose next I am sure you will be happy with it. Get one of everything, that way you will have something for all occasions.

Welcome to the forum, and HIKV.

Bruce Dickinson says, yes the Bruce Dickinson, "Look..I'm just not gettin' enough khukuri. Really go to town with the khukuri. I mean, go CRAZY with it. Kobras, Sirus, AKs, GRS'. OK, take two...":D

First of all, welcome to the forum:) You picked a fine first knife. I would just read up on all the different kinds of khuks (and Whoa, Nelly are there a lot to pick from), and pick out one that suits your needs and looks good to your eye. I have always been very partial to the 18" WWII, the M43, and the YCS when it comes to khuks. Also, don't forget that HI has a wide variety of small belt knives, swords, and unique blades that just can't be put in a category of any type:D

Oh, and check out the safety thread before you swing your khuk. Your arms, shins, fingers, loved ones, and pets might thank you for it:thumbup:

Once again, welcome!

Just out of curiosity, which one do you keep by the bed?

Just out of curiosity, which one do you keep by the bed?

'Baby BAS' that I Just got from Voxhog here on the forums. And I just ordered a 'Baby Chitlangi' from Yangdu today. Dang, once that one gets here I won't get any sleep . . .

The one that used to live next to the bed was my Becker BK7, reworked & mod'ed, and my wife hated that one. (Her to me: "You just not want any more kids. It's awful hard to be in the 'mood' with something that ugly on the shelf next to the bed.") Becker now lives in a drawer VERY close by, with my flashlight, cell phone, and my little bug out pack.

Wife is happy now . . . ;)
