NOTICE TO ALL:
Todd Foster aka TODD1 is in no way shape or form tring to A)pass this off as a custom STRIDER B) Tring in any way to imply that it is better, the same or equal to a STRIDER.C) looking to be flamed for simply posting a pic of a production BUCK/STRIDER that he made simple modification to in his mind make it a better EDC for his own taste.
Thanks,
Todd:D

Very nice job! You did that yourself? It looks custom. I really like it. Can you post up some better PICS? Different angles, stuff like that.

I'm really glad to see that you are still having fun with your toys and modifying them to suit your needs.

I am also glad to see that you are thick skinned enough to bring it out here for the rest of us to enjoy even if some don't seem to understand.

My hat's off to a man who can hold his ground and not sink to a pissing match when confronted by one.

Todd,

Just send the knife to me and I'll take photos of it but I tend to forget to return things forever. jkjk
btw, nice boxers.

Ha! Good eye, Shelby! That's kind of disgusting. Put some clothes on next time yo take a picture like that, Todd!

Just teasing- great job on the B/S. It think it's way cool when people have the skill customize thir own stuff. Good work!

Nice job!

I am a hobby maker, and so I tend to enjoy the "technical" threads a bit more than the others. To see what someoen helse has done to modify a tool is always educational, and sometimes quite interesting! You have shown us that a Tactical knife can be dressed up!

I bet Mick and Duane get a kick out of what you did. I bet Mick and Duane modified many tools that they have used over the years! Good job.

I do wish to recommend that you pick up a good respirator of you are going to continue to modify and/or make knives. G-10, Micarta, etc. give off formaldehyde and phenol, and you DON'T want to breathe in the tiny particles of g-10 and such. Also, buffing wheels give off dust and the buffing compound is bad for your innards.

TOmorrow is my birthday, and today I got a new respirator ffrommy parents. You can find one that will do you at Sears. mien came from there and was $60 Canadian.

Keep on doing the mods! Before you know it, you'll be ordering steel from a supplier and making blades from scratch.

oh my god! That hardly even looks like the Buck Strider anymore, it's gorgeous. Those handle scales are great, how long did it take to give them that finish?

Thanks for all the great comments!!! If I do any more I'll post a pic!
Shelby glad you like the boxers;)
Todd

Todd,
Great Job!! It is fun changing and making a knife you own even better and more personal. I work in a machine shop and have never been able to leave certian of my knives alone. It is too tempting to put a radius here or a polish job there. Keep up the good work!

Damn Todd! I can`t believe anyone would F up a perfectly good knife like that.I think it sucks! :D Just kiddin`

Forgive me if it's already been asked and answered, but other than polishing, what did you do to the grips? It looks like they've been rounded and contoured to a more comfortable profile?

Any input on what you did / tools used is appreciated. I like the buck/striders, just they don't look too comfortable to grip with the blocky g10 (I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time! :D )
