I was just perusing that big river place earlier, then and checked in on a book that was the first time my work was published in an international venue. It is a collaborative work on survival that I was recruited to work on with a few other authors. Hard to believe there is a first volume available, as only a few of those were done. I guess hat would explain the 2.7K asking price. Volume 2 has a more reasonable price tag.

I wrote, among other things, most of the chapter on fire lighting, utilizing modern and primitive techniques. The material was collected over three years, 2008-2010 so I used a few different knives in different sections depending on the environment. A few of the knives were Fiddlebacks, and I worked that little Hiking Buddy hard! :) Sometimes I miss that knife, and other times I still kick myself for not snagging the Black Palm that one Kal-El Kal-El grabbed. :)

That's super cool!

It was a lot of fun. The material was collected in the archives of an internet forum over the course of a couple of years. It was an invitation only think tank, that was an offshoot of another UK based survival forum I was a member of. I was the only American invited in, which made for some more of the cool factor. Almost everyone else was from western Europe, Spain, and Africa. They were an interesting group of guys and gals to work with. I still keep in touch with a few of them.

Kal-El Kal-El can you tell us exactly which ribs of Mistwalker Mistwalker you slid that hiking buddy through and if you turned the blade clockwise or counter clockwise on the way to punching through his thoracic vertebrae. I would like to have this technique down in case I need to use it on a mortal enemy. By the way, very nice HB.

Good stuff as usual Brian!!

Oh, do you mean this one?........

That would be the one...the one that slipped away lolol. My learning experience with where I stand on scandi grinds and my much preferring not having them :)

In this case I was my own worst enemy and made the wrong choice, simple as that. But it was a learning thing :)

Thats cool!

I think so too, I wish my copy of book 1 hadn't gotten destroyed...
