2 years ago, I sold a GEC Dixie Stockman in Natural Stag when I was hard up for cash after my wife’s car accident. It went down as a knife I really regretted selling.
Over the past year, I tried replacing it. I even offered up a hard to get 81 Abeline Stockman as a trade, but I couldn’t get any bites. I bought and sold a ton of GEC’s, but the right 82 never popped up.
I heard, through the grapevine, that GEC was doing another run of 82 Dixies, so I postponed my search. I ended up buying a few from the 2018 run, and ended up selling all but one gorgeous stag handled knife, but I really missed the inlaid shield and the slanted bolsters of the original one. I decided I was being silly, and looked past these differences and considered myself lucky that GEC actually repeated a run of the slow seller I was looking for.
Then, a Dixie popped up on the exchange. It was like new, stag, shield, slanted bolsters- it was perfect! Exactly like the one I sold two years ago.
Well, I took it out of the tube today. Turns out it WAS the one I sold two years ago.
The picture I took when I sold it:

I guess when you buy and sell as often as I do, you’re bound to double-dip.
