well, i lost another one...

A cool piece. I watched, but didn't bid. Having the ebay app on my phone is probably a bad idea...

did anyone here get it?
man i really did want that thing. you dont see those that often. i dont think that i have ever seen one before...

some folks have a lot more $ than i do, thats for sure... and to think that i thought i might actually get it for 85 bucks... ha... little did i know that there were folks that wanted it much more than me:(
i had already planned on getting an octangle handle for it from TN. hickory... i think thats called 'counting your chickens before they hatch'...

Yeah, down economy and all this stuff is going for mondo money. If you think axes are bad, check out the vintage bicycle market... my dad needed two screws for an old frame this week and had to spend 80 freakin' bucks on em!

I have an old Ciocc cyclocross bike sittin' in my garage. It's cool. Wonder what I could get for it these days...and how many axes I could buy instead!!!! :D

M3mphis,that Ciocc should be worth at least 1/3 as much as that BR that got all crazy expensive the other day. Especially with og components. That Italian steel is very desirable these days. And congrats to whomever snagged either of those jersey's and that lightly used Connecticut lookin Kelly as well. Buck had a beautiful tool there!

bearhunter, did you pick up one of those Perfect jersey's this evening?
yeah m3mphis i got the one without the handle for 41 bucks... looks to be in good shape. the 'kelly perfect' look a little worn, but im hoping that it just needs a good cleaning...
we'll have to wait and see.
but hey, i finally got one... hurray...! :)
how much did the other one go for? i was away overnight and missed the auction. i just bid 'high' for the one i got and hoped for the best... i guess it worked!

uh, what size toptube is on that bike, and what's the component makeup and approx. age?

I bought it from a friend of mine that was a pro cyclist in like the 80's. I don't know the age, but I could probably ask him. It's a San Cristobal, Shimano 600 shifters/derailleurs/crankset, Mavic rims, etc. I have some Italian Duegi shoes to match! :D I don't know the top tube size, i'd have to measure it when I'm home.

ETA: Just to be clear, I'm not trying to sling my bike on this forum. I just mentioned it in passing. I haven't bought a membership as of yet, so I don't want to break those rules. So the bike is not for sale. It just came up in conversation.

damn, those look nice... i just need to get some handles for the 'extra' axe heads i already have...
