Well, if my paypal aint good... regarding membership/payment

Hi guys. Love these forums, and have particularly been hanging around the Busse/Swamp Rat sections.

I considered getting a gold membership, but as I'm from Norway I had to go through the onestopknifeshop route. First of all, the amount of fraud here is basically next to none, and I am purchasing things via paypal internationally all the time, so I was a bit taken back by the fact that I had to do a detour instead of using the standard payment option (doesnt paypal also have a responsibility of covering potential fraud?).

When I had finished registering over at onestopknifeshop and am about to process the order I find that I cant pay, as international credit card fraud is a big problem. Ok, what about paypal I think, but there is no option for this. Turns out I have to make a wire or pre pay payment to pay for this membership.

Like stated, I do love the forums, but for now I'll stay an ordinary member. I would reconsider the hassle we international customers have to go through to become a paying member here.

Just my two cents, and I guess I'm not the only one. No hard feelings though.

You can use paypal though?

I think you may have found a bug - I was looking at the paid subscriptions just before the site was upgraded and paypal was there then. Hope it is a bug cause that is how I was going to pay.

Seems like I didnt read close enough. I jumped straight from "If you are not from the United States, you'll need to this page and purchase a membership through that system." to trying to buy at the onestopknifeshop. In addition to the paypal option I see that it even says that we can ignore the message about credit cards and non-US as long as we are paying for membership here. Doh. In too much of a hurry obviously.

My deepest apologies. This issue was entirely caused by me. Please delete this thread to not confuse other "soon to be" members as much as I confused myself.

Membership purchased btw :)
