Well, after putting it off for entirely too long, I have aquired my first spyderco knife. It's an SS Delica PE. This one is in pretty beat up shape (got it in trade), and I can still tell what a great knife it is. I avoided Spyderco's because I thought they were ugly, but after handling this knife I realize the error of my ways. This is one solid user knife--plus I have some ideas for customizing it to improve appearance.;) . Just wanted to share my first spyderco experience. Looks like I'm gonna have to acquire a few more in the near future.:)

Hey, I want to be one of the first to welcome you to the bladeforums / Spyderco Forum. There is another Spyderco Forum at the spdyerco website which is www.spyderco.com. However, I have found both places to be on equal footin' of the latest news and so forth about spyderco knives. I think most people will run into a delica variant more often then not before they see some of the other spyderco knives available to you. The first spyderco I ever used and purchased was a Black FRN Delica either a VG-10 or GIN-1. They are very handy as an edc but so are many of the others types of knives spyderco has to offer. I have to admit at first glance most of the spyderco knives are not eye appealin' though it takes a lil bit of working with a few of them to realize what awesome knives they are and that several types may be very useful for you as an EDC. Well, I just want to say your are now headed in the right direction! Welcome...

Spyderco has a LOT to offer. Browse the knife reviews. Custom collaborations at reasonable prices, great EDC knives & purpose built tools. Especially watch for the new knives coming out in S30V. All US made knives are going to be S30V & it's the only steel that outperforms VG10 that I've had. It sharpens to sticky sharp & just stays there. Welcome to the club man !

Thanks Jeff/1911. You should check out the bali forum here at BF. There are guys way better than me.

Welcome to the world of Spyders ;) And congratulations for your inspired acquisition. The Delica is one of my very favorites. You may want to try the FRN models too, they have better steel(s) and they are so light you'll never feel (until you'll need them, of course).
