I posted this in the Swamp Rat forum but I figured that it'd be alright to post it here as well, there's definitely more traffic here.
Well, I think I'm an Addict-AND I LIKE IT !
As many of us have, I've lusted after a few Busse/Kin blades for a couple of years before finally taking the plunge. I wasn't after anything too extravagant, just an NMSFNO and a TGLB.
BUT
Then while trying to learn the ins and outs of all of the names and abbreviations of the different knives they've offered I ran into a few more that I wanted.
I ended up getting a nice deal on a standard Ratmandu with some Mashed Cat Kydex for my first. I absolutely love that knife. You've all heard it before but I have to say that it is one of the best "all around" knives there is. The only thing I'd change is to remove the choil but that's just a preference thing, I still love that knife!
The Second one I picked up was a sweet NMSFNO with some Kydex from the exchange. In short, it's everything I imagined it would be-damn sweet knife. Mine is the bronze, minus tattoo (thankfully, no offense Garth). I wasn't sure what I'd think of the color but when it showed up I was happy to find that I really like it. I look forward to using this knife at every excuse I can find. It came able to shave arm hair and has held that obtuse shaving edge perfectly. It is my first Infi and I'll never part with that one.
I followed that up with a sweet HRLM with some homemade kydex( mashed cat on the way ), I think it'd make a great hunting knife and may use it instead of my Nyala this season-if I can get it back from my Wife who also loves the little Rodent.
The ergo's of the HRLM and the Ratmandu handle are superb. I like that handle so much that I ended up getting my second piece of Infi-in a Swamp Rat-the infamous InfiDu. There's something to be said about the beauty of satin Infi and coyote G10. I haven't been able to bring myself to use this one yet due to its beauty but I bought it because I prefer uncoated blades and it's just a matter of time before I break it in.
I picked up a Prototype Tanto Mudd Mutt after that as a gift for my friend who's been helping me fix up my house since I had my shoulder replaced. It was the first time I laid hands on the resiprene handle and I have to admit that I like it a lot. I considered keeping it but it was bought with a purpose and I'm sure that he'll love it.
The most recent one is still en route, it's a Beefmandu with a swedge. I have some mashed cat Kydex coming for it and am very excited to get this one. I think that it'll make a great camp/hiking blade.
Well that does it for now, the TGLB is still on the list along with a Gladius and possibly a NMFSH.
I've bared my addiction for all of you Hogs, 6 knives in 8-9 weeks.
I know that some of you buy that many in a week but I'm still just a piglet😊
I'll try to update with photo's later, thanks for reading.
