So ^that happened. Thats my TiZDP Leek.

I had that knife listed in the for trade section and a deal was made. After the other party received the knife he sent me that picture. :confused:
I must have totally missed the cracked blade, quite embarrassing. Of course I made it right. Anyway, long story short now I have the knife again and I'm bummed. I contacted KAI and they offered to refund me the MSRP value of the knife. Does anyone remember what the MSRP was on the TIZDP Leek?

I'm afraid to continue to carry it lest the thumbstud come loose or another crack forms.
Oh well...
 
That blows. I had that happen to a Scallion awhile back. Still have the two pieces of the blade. Not nearly as bad as having it happen to something as rare as a ZDP Leek though.
 
I'm not sure what the stated retail for the knife was new, but I can remember picking up some BNIB in the aftermarket in early 2007. The average price then was around $125.

For some reason $179 keeps popping in my head regarding the MSRP...
 
I would still carry or use it myself. maybe a dap of gorilla glue on both sides of the stud so it don't fall out? I have a purple splinter I gave to my wife and its got the same crack. Sill works just fine, Hell I bought it that way!
 
Man that Sucks! Well I'm sure the buyer understands, and you did what you had to do to make it right. It's an honest mistake, and you may get more from kershaw.
 
I'd accept kershaws offer and buy a new ZT, or see if they will trade for one worth around $200.
 
It's going into a hole so it most likely will not go any further. That sucks, But it is still perfectly usable. Or take them up on the offer. What do they say it is worth?

I would probably go for one of the new ZTs coming out like the 0801, 0566 or 0770 (I think those are the correct model numbers) Those should all be under two bills if that's what the MSRP really was for the Leek.
 
Yeah I've got a 0770 preordered at BladeHQ. I can't wait for that one.
Maybe I can cancel it.
 
I'm sure it'll buff right out.

Yeah, having stuff happen to discontinued and rare knives sucks.
