That's when my pay increase kicks in, and I am going to put a down payment on a Model 1, or something similar, for use. I am also going to get a stag handled piece for the shelf. I can wait, and will just have to flip through an old dog eared Randall book a friend gave me. BTW, I have been looking for Randalls on eBay, and the most expensive one up there is an old WW2 Randall, and it's over 1000.00  . Is that a deal? If I succumb and buy a used one, what type of price would I be looking at if I bought a regular Randall model 1? Anybody know what good prices are on a Randall? Can't wait to buy one... :D

E-pay has tons of them but they are running $100 to $200 over catalog price. A basic model 1 will cost you $350 and up. Pay your $20 and wait 4 years or pay E-pay prices.

I'll probably get stoned for this, but here's another alternative...
Send your twenty bucks in for a Randall, but drop the 130 or so for a Cold Steel R1 and play with that for the next 4 years till the real one arrives. Consider it a pacifier to play with and beat up.

Model 1's for $350 ?? screamin' deal !! I might even sell mine if I thought I could get that much !! I need to spend more time at you-know-where.

in the meantime..... no one mentioned the poor man's Randall.... Blackjack. Spotted a nice one for $140 at the for-sale Forum.

with that said, I'll suggest dropping any interim cash on a SOG Seal 2000 instead of Cold Steel while waiting for the Real Randall to arrive..... should be about 1/2 the financial pain..... personal bias and prejudice on my part, of course.

Cheers and Happy Randall,

Carl

p.s. gotta love that Model 1 that Busse posted about..... awesome history.

You may be able to find a 'user' Randall for around $200, if you're lucky...

Your right about that Mel, "if your lucky" the dealers I know that have Randalls know what they're worth. I was lucky because I was friends with a dealer I got my model 15 with a model 1 handle for $200.00. You'd be hard pressed to find one priced cheap at the Maryland shows. I know all the dealers that have Randalls from time to time and believe me, they know what they've got.

My uncle has alluded to having one while he was in Vietnam, he hasn't showed me yet, I'm still prodding him to see it. I can lay down the 20 now for a Randall, I have no idea what I am going to get, though. A model 1 with a stag handle?
