Well it appears that I've lost a knife for the first time.

I can't seem to find my fully serrated Spyderco Delica. I cant remember exactly where I had it last but I think it may have been in my pocket when I changed out of my jeans to put waders on before duck hunting. So it may have fallen out and is now laying in the field. I'll have to see if I can find it when I'm back out there. Other than that I don't know where it would be. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it turns up. Oh well. At least it was one of my cheaper knives.

That stinks. I still think of knives I had and have dissapeared without explanation. They weren't a big deal in the grand scheme, but at the time they were treasured. Some could have been replaced easily for less than $20. Some were gifted from important people in my life. That makes it the hardest to overcome. I always thought when I cleared out the parents house they would turn up. No such luck. Keep looking.

Lost a 400 Busse knife.......February this year. Actually bought a metal detector the other day in hopes of locating it.

Well I found it in the field today. It looks like it did fall out of my pocket. I was really excited when I found it because I didn't think I had any chance of it turning up.

I lost a rather expensive EDC several years back. I searched and searched everywhere I could think that I might have misplaced it, until I finally gave up. Months later, when picking my car up at the car wash, there it was, in the cup holder. I hunted the finishing guy down and gave him a BIG tip.

Wow, that's great! At least you were able to narrow it down to where you might have lost it, and no one else beat you to it.

Me? I lose about every knife I carry. Simple solution to that, I don't carry one. Not without a lanyard anyway. ;)

That's awesome, man. I used to detail cars for a living and countless times found substantial amounts of money or nice items and was always honest and respectful of peoples belongings. I am glad you got the knife back and I am glad you made good with the detail guy who could've easily had a nice knife for himself.

I have lost a couple of knives, it is a terrible feeling! You are lucky you found it! Was it rusted from spending some days in a field?

Nope. VG-10 is pretty rust resistant apparently. You wouldnt even be able to tell it was out there other than some dirt on the scales.

That's awesome that you found it. :) I've been lucky finding knives I've lost, even in the field, and days later like you.

A few months back I lost my sog powerlock multi and I was fairly heartbroken only because that thing rode on my hip for years. My wife just got me a new black one yesterday though so I'm happy again. :)

The only time I have had vg10 rust on me is when I brought a delica to a rave. It took 6 hours of being soaked in sweat and only had a few little spots. And I don't oil it AT ALL.

I only seem to loose slipjoints, lost a few case knives and a gec. I sit down and they just fall out of my pocket. Been thinking about getting one of those benchmade bone collectors, with the nail nick and clip.

I lost an Emerson Commander years ago it was number 069. Mary picked it out special for me. Man that was one of the first 100 it was a bitter experience for me.

What was it if you don't mind me asking.

I know the feeling :( I also lost a Spydie Delica. It was black ti, fs and integated clip. I left it on a counter at work after opening cartons of survival packs for my company's EQ supplies. Although I have more knives then I can count, I loved that that old knife. Pisses me off that some low-life walked of with it:grumpy:

Glad you got your knife back and good for you for tipping the guy. I detail cars when I have a long break from school and very few people are appreciative.

The last knife I lost was a cheap S&W but I did like it ! It was lost in a 125 acre corn field! The next year I happened to be riding my ATV through that field and saw the silver glint as I went by at about 25 mph!!!!! :-0 that'll never happen again! LOL !wish I could find a few of the others! I did lay a Gerber multi tool on the side of my truck and found it after driving 30 miles back but I had remembered where I left that one!
