IMG_2408.JPG Hey guys!
I'm sad to say, it happened again......got another new Benchmade knife.......that is perfect out of the box!!
Saw the GG exclusive and NEEDED one!! My darling sons still can't figure out that borrowing something from dad, usually means you return that certain something!!! They really like the 940 and 2 have magically disappeared from the collection!! Doesn't bother me one bit as I'm thrilled they are now blade boys!!
This -1701 is a really nice version!! Scales seem a bit softer around the edges of the scales and it's really comfy in hand!
Perfectly centered, no play whatsoever with beautiful action!! Sweet steel too!!
It is one seriously cool knife!!
Joe

PS......Going Gear got the knife to me in 2 business days and the knife was packed extremely well!! First time I e dealt with them and am very satisfied!!

Beautiful! I especially like the contoured edges on the grips. The 1501 has almost sharp edges. Feels ok in the hand, but it's difficult to access the thumb stud.

IMG_2412.JPG Thanks!!
Try this with the thumb studs brother:
Just approach the stud from the top instead of behind it. Tip of your thumb should only contact the very top of the thumb stud. This way it doesn't matter if the stud is right up against the scale.
I had custom scales made for my 710-1401 and they're a bit wider than stock. No problem opening it from the top.
Worth a shot.

Hey SO!!
Had a couple of reeeaaalllyyyyy good weeks!! The temps hit 90* here.......and I'm purdy good at fixing air conditioning systems!!!
Nice to treat ourselves once in a while and opening up new knives puts one hell of a smile on my face!!!
Like this one, :D:D

Palonej you are going balls out lately! A couple of CRK's, benchmade 940? What else you bought recently?

Palonej,

Congrats on your perfect 940-1701 and all your previous perfect Benchmade Axis folders.

When did you get your first Benchmade folder?

Did you purchase them all new from a Benchmade dealer?

Do you ask these Benchmade dealers anything in specific when you order?

Hey RZ!
Got my first BM in June of '15 from White Mountain Knives on eBay. Got to know the owner, Justin, and have dealt with him mostly. The only knife I asked him to take a look at was the Spydie Advocate. Did so because of all the neg press surrounding that knife. He is a BM dealer, and a great dude to deal with.
Have never asked him, or anyone else, to check a BM before they send them.
Again, maybe I'm really lucky??
I don't have the edge knowledge to complain about bevels being a tiny bit off, but I'm also not blind.
I'm also not an idiot, if I did get a few that were really messed up, I probably wouldn't have as many as I do.
I will say one thing RZ, it seems the exclusives seem to be built just a tiny bit better than the reg productions. I got a few, Cutlery Shoppe Rift, 940-1701, 710-1401, 908-1501 etc. These all have been even better!
