While waiting for my small custom Sebenza, I went out and bought a large regular Sebenza. this is my first Sebenza and after only one day of use all I have to say is WOW, I need to pinch myself. This knife is so smooth and well build, it's like a tactical knife with a gentlemen knife finish with the tolerances of a fine Swiss watch. This will be my main EDC along with the small classic I will be getting soon. Now I am doomed to saving money long enough to buy custom Sebenza's, else my knife collecting will not be satisfying enough. Well I was warned against the hard stuff, but that only encouraged me.

Congrats on your new sebbie, yes they are extremly addictive, my wife thought i was insane when i got my small box elder inlay to go along with my small plain regular. enjoy

It's sickening. . . . :D

And the addiction only get worse. :D

See, we told ya you would love it, you need to trust us more :p . After a few days of carry , it just might become your new best friend; you take care of it and it will take care of you. :)

It's like an adventure with this mysterious knife. A normal hair is around 0.001 of an inch, the tolerance of the Sebenza is 0.0002 of an inch, that is not an easy thing to manufacture. And the way the pivot works, it only works because of the tight tolerance and top quality materials, how else could you pull it off? This is not just a knife, this is art of design. I am a software engineer with a lot of experience in the aerospace industry working with controllers for turbine engines and with computer simulation of mechanical engineering. I know what it cost and the work it takes to create such fine a tool. The Sebenza is the best example of keeping it simple and within such tight tolerance that I have seen in engineering. To own such a fine example of both what a knife can be and also what creative engineering can create is a privilege that only a few can appreciate and many pass by. And the cost of the knife is inexpensive for a knife of this quality, what a bonus.

There are not enough superlatives and platitudes to describe the Sebenza, and secondarily, the Mnandi and Umfaans.

My top knives:

1. Large Classic Ladder Devin Damascus w/Cocobolo inlay.
2. Unique graphic Umfaan -- because of it's uniqueness and rarity
3. My plain old Randall Model 14 with the carbon blade.
4. Gerber Coffin Handle Bowie -- the last ones made in the US, now discontinued.
5. SOG Trident
6. A few other high quality Bokers and Linders.

A small and simple, but nice collection.

This is getting good, I now have an old BG-42 large regular Sebenza, now I can test the BG-42 against the S30V. I can see now that I will be forever in longing until I get one in Damascus. Please don't tell me there are other steels that the Sebenza was make in, other wise I will need one!
