And it's everything I hoped it would be. :) A small Apogee, frame lock, ano Ti slabs and CPM420V.

It came with a little file work on the spine and some gold decoration I think is called 'nuggeting' on either end of the slabs, neither of which I expected.

It's feather light but well balanced, all the grind lines meet perfectly and all edges on the slabs are relieved or chamfered and there's even a scalloped edge to assist your thumbs grip when releasing the lock. Also, very comfy in the hand, good ergonomics. Lots of blade packed into a small handle.

This is my also my first blade in CPM steel, this piece seems very hard, kinda 'slides' along the stone. Don't know what Rc is usual for DDR with this steel. :( (DDR?)

Oh....did I mention that if was beautiful too?

This is no art knife...just another minor masterpiece from the mind and hands of DDR.

A VERY nice knife.

Thanks DDR,

Steve-O

Congratulations on your first DDR knife. I am positive this won't be your last :) Show us some pictures.

Steve - you have officially joined the ranks of the Ralphites :D Congrats on your new toy, no doubt it will certainly provide you with good use and enjoyment in ownership. If you can, please post some pics!

Thanks NC and Dexter,

Sadly, I do not have digital capabilities. My knife looks just like the one on DDRs site, only a bit darker. I have loved the curved cross hatch on DDRs slabs since I first saw them, I asked for them for this reason.

I think my knife is as close to a 'stock' knife as DDR has made, but it still has all the touches of a custom knife...great materials, great workmanship and an attention to detail that is amazing.

I am well pleased.

Steve-O. Go to this thread for a discussion that mentions the RC that Darrel treats his CPM420V to.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=190596&highlight=D2+or+CPM420V

I have come to the conclusion that Darrel knows a lot about how metals behave in combination with his blade geometry than I will ever know. So, in the end I put in my order with him and will trust his judgement. Sure would be nice if he would make my knife soon, the wait is tough.:(

Great score on the Apogee! As Michael said, I don't think this will be your only DDR. His "stock" knives are sweet! The cool thing I've noticed with Darrel is that he will occassionally slip in a pleasant surprise in his knives. Uusally sometype of upgrade that you weren't expecting.

Geode - Just pester the heck out of Darrel! He loves it, really....;) :p I guess I should be a good boy if I ever want to see my Scorpion....:D

Very nice knife Steve.., I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Darrels work is phemominal...
