Finally broke down and purchased my first fixed blade since I was a very young boy scout. I dropped by my local knife store and they had only one in stock. Played with it a bit, and then told them to "wrap it up". A brand new Seal Pup Elite SE Tiger Stripe. A fitting partner to my Trident folder Tiger Stripe. Now, to figure out what I am going to use it for. Urban warfare maybe?

Richard !!!! :D Congrads !!! Do you have any pics or links of this knife ?

I am glad for you...........a well deserved gift for you. You worked hard this summer, you needed another SOG ! :D

Richard, congrats on getting the new SOG. I would LOVE to handle one of those. Especially the Tigerstriped one. Hope you have a chance to use it soon. Am not buying any new knives right now, got to pay off my new Shark. But if I had the money, I'd get one of those new SEAL Pups.

This is the normal Seal Pup. The Elite has a bit thicker blade (.185 vs .160 for the Seal Pup) Also a bit longer blade (4.85 vs 4.75. Blade is AUS8 Hard Coated TiAIN in tiger stripe pattern. And surprisingly, a tiny bit lighter than the regular Seal Pup. Don't have a camera as yet (I keep spending my $$ on SOG Knives).

That is the one. Even better in person. And the Kydex sheath is a real dream to use. And I love the way the belt loop works. Don't have to undo the belt to put it on or off. Great thinking and design here. Robbie, YOU NEED THIS KNIFE!!

Awesome knife!!.... I have been drooling over that one ever since I first laid eyes on it. One of these days I'll probably give in and buy myself one, make sure you use it real good and get that nice coating all scratched up.... just like Robbie likes them. :p

Socintel, 400, wow ! I would estimate that is 1.61 post per day..........  now that is just a quick guess......... :D

Yeah, I really like em scratched up.........

The tiger striping is kind of deceptive in that pic, the blade contours and finish on these new knives are perfect.

I think they are much more comfortable to hold and the grinds are much better IMO.

Of course the older pup is great, and it's a classic, but these are just really finished out really slick.

and that is what sold me on the Seal Pup. Size, weight, and balance. Having smallish hands, the larger bowie types are just too large and heavy for me to use. The Seal Pup fits my hand perfectly, and the balance is amazing. And the look. It just looks "right".

Its not surprising that you find the other type of seal knives small. They are made for HUGE SEALs.
