Preferably folding, but one that has one hell of a lock up. Or a non folding one that is on the smaller side.

What say you gentleman??

Thanks in advance.

Tim

I think you would like derespina fixed blade. He makes production and custom fixed blades. They go from $80. - around $200. and well worth the money

they might be sub-standard for your requirements but i have heard good things about Mantis K-bits. 420HC blade, metal handle, various blade profiles, and they go for about 25 bucks.

Hey Guys..

Randy Doucette makes some Sweet karambits as well..

Check them out..

Dunno your price range, but if you don't mind going a bit high, James Coogler makes some great karambits!

I would look into Emerson's Karambit folder. It does have a liner lock which some are not fond of, but I really dont see it being an issue on this design. I cant really think of any time when there would be stress on the liner due to the shape of the blade.

Thanks for all the responses already guys.

Price range is around 100 dollars. Although will go higher for something durable, that is my biggest issue is a solid lock up and something that will stand up to alot of abuse.

I like this one quite a bit but its always sold out...

Anyone know what spydercos kerambit runs? Quality of it?

have a look at Deviant's folding Kbits... gaining popularity on USN!
belgian, quality knife. titanium frame lock, G10 scale covering the ring.

check out this black coated one

wow ...and the price?

You'll probably have to contact the maker (Filip at Deviant Blades) to get a price...no price mentioned in the USN thread. I recommend reading the thread there, and checking out the additional pictures. The presentation box alone is to die for...very nice work...a wicked Karambit!

You could get a mantis karambit for pretty cheap. They have a framelock, but I know someone who snapped the tip off of one. Not sure if he was abusing it or not though.

Also check out 511 tactical. They have a couple karambit models with backlocks. One is S30V and one is 154CM. I checked out their website and one is definately in your price range. The S30V model may be as well if they are sold at discount stores online. Looks like it may be right up your alley.

Lets see....good price range Kbits...You want Customs or Productions?? I'll do a few suggestions of each.

5-11 Tactical Masters Kbit(used to be made by Bladetech)...a few pics of the masters model...

CK&T makes the Bengal Kbit...theyre realllll nice.

Mantis is ok...but you get what you pay for...Spydies are ok too...better than Mantis IMHO...but not for carry, theyre too wide IMHO. I think Striders are way over priced for what they are. Theyre using the same steel and materials everyone else does...so why do they cost so much more?? I dont wanna discuss it, its Just my personal view.

As far as customs...
RJ Martin makes a small fixed like you asked about...I won one and they ROCK!! They run about $275-$300 depending on size and which one. Heres a pic of what mine looks like..the black one.

Coogler makes some really great KBits in the custom market. He is very very good at his craft. heres a few Coogler Kbits and one of his Fixed blades...nice stuff huh?? :)

Anyways...I too am a custom knifemaker, and I make Kbits as well, but I figure its better to support your fellow makers when given the chance.

Good luck in your search bro....God bless.

If you want a VERY well made+Handmade K-bit that you can pass down to your children and chop the hell outta ANYTHING with.... then you can't beat a Himalayan Imports Karambit. Full 1/4 inch thick spine,7 inch blade and a weight of around 9 ounces, this is usually standard size. You can get Various handle materials that all look great on these lil knives.
they usually run from $100(DOTD) to $175 or so, depending on the kami who makes it,what materials and such. best bet is to watch the DOTD.

Add H.I 's IronClad Warranty and Yangdu's world class service.....you can't go wrong!

This Karambit Was a Deal of the Day special at around $100.
Same Specs as above with a Montana Elk Antler handle.

Anyone know where one of these can be bought. Can not find it on himalayan website?

They are not on the store website because they are not a normal production offering as of yet. As far as i know there are upwards of 20 or 30 of them floating around in various hands, which come up for sale either here or ebay every once in a blue moon.I've only seen it happen maybe three times in the last year though, most people that get them, keep them. Mostly they show up as deals of the day in the H.I forum. You can always email the owner, Yangdu, and she can tell you where and when and how much or ask around the H.I forum, they're a pretty friendly bunch.
