well for some reason my tenacious keeps getting side to side play....this is the second time ive locktited it in like a month and a half.....i do what the instructions say...but i keep getting play whyyy???? D:

My guess is the pivot isn't clean of oil etc.

get some brake cleaner and spray it in to the area in question to get rid of the oil and contaminats before you use yoru locktite adn when you do, use teh red and not the blue so it doesnt come loose.

If you ever want to remove the pivot for whatever reason, DO NOT use red LocTite. It will not come off. Blue is perfectly fine. I even use the purple 222MS for small fasteners with success.

I use the blue myself - which is easily defeated by a hair dryer on HIGH for a minute or so.

Prep is everything as in most jobs. Make sure the female and male parts are CLEAN, use alcohol and q-tips some steel wool can clear away residue nicely before an alcohol flush. (Don't lose a strand in the pivot - only on the screw).

Naphtha (lighter fluid) works well also. Let everything get bone dry and use a drop of blue (make sure you shake up the bottle or tube) on the pivot screw and put 'er in there where you want it, test to be sure and leave the blade open, then don't touch it for 24 hours except to turn it from one die to the other in the first hour, to allow for the thread locker to drain evenly to both sides (this may be too anal but I do it).

Some people also forget to wait 24 hours to let it set. I usually wait 48 to be safe.

The possibility of using plumbers tape is there too, no drying time.
