Actually it's not that bad. I'm still a newb here, but I went and bought a sharpmaker to learn the art. Let me say that I'm am a TOTAL newbie when it comes to sharpening, so I used a Glock Field knife to try the new system out, so if I screwed up I wouldn't be too heartbroken. Well needless to say and I was checking out the blade that I had only sharpened to "utility" (according to the manual) I cut the **** out of myself. So, obviously, I'm pleased with the sharpmaker.
Thanks all for the advice on that purchase. It's strange....I've owned knives for years and have never taken the time or energy to learn how to sharpen them. I'm pretty excited about this.
I would totally endorse the sharpmaker to any new guy. Very simple, VERY effective. this reminds me of a joke.....
I told my wife, "Honey I just cut my finger off"
She says..."The whole finger?"
I reply, "Not the hole finger, the one next to it"
