For a little over a year, I have been disparaging of the 'Vantage' lineup of knives, which was largely due to the fact that both of my new Vantages (an Avid and a Pro) came out of the box with problems. One knife wouldn't 'flip' and the other had lousy centering. Well, I really wanted to like these knives, so I decided to tweak the pivot tightness. No matter how hard I tried, I could either center the blades or flip the blades, but not both. So today, after seeing the above two knives in a drawer, I thought I would give one more try to tweak the pivot. I decided that this time I would try very fine adjustments, unlike my first attempts.
Success! I managed to get both knives to where I wanted them, in short order. So, to anyone who is thinking about the Vantage line, buy with confidence, they can be tweaked when necessary.
As for me, I will just sit in a corner and eat Crow.
